Welcome to The Buxton Group The Buxton Group, founded by Wavel Buxton in 1924 remains a family owned organisation, undertaking a wide range of house building, property development and construction projects throughout London and the Home Counties.
Buxton Building Contractors is the construction arm of the Group with a current capacity of £55 million turnover per annum. The majority of our work is carried out for Public and Private Sector clients in the Education, Residential, Healthcare, Commercial, Industrial and Leisure sectors. We take our responsibilities seriously and work hard to ensure that all of our projects are completed professionally, sensitively and, not least, enjoyably. The task of providing new buildings and facilities should be positive, exciting and inclusive.

NCYPE, MARC Building – The refurbishment and extension of an existing facility to create a new £4.8 million Medical And Research Centre February 08 Buxton’s £9.0 million contract at St James’ Grove Wandsworth receives a Design Award for “Outstanding Contributions to the Borough” March 08 Capital House, Haywards Heath – A £2.0 million contract for the fitting out and extensions to a five storey block of offices Jan 08 Congreve and Barlow Estate, London SE17 – A £2.0 million Decent Homes refurbishment programme to carry out kitchen renewals M & E installations and external repairs to 143 occupied dwellings. Morden College, SE3 – A development of nursing home accommodation valued at £3.8 million. Pavement, Redhill – A £1.5 million mixed development of ground floor retail space and 16 residential apartments. Dec 07 Buxton’s updated Quality Management System attains full BS ISO 9001:2000 accreditation The Shornewood Visitors Centre completed by Buxton in 2006 project picked up the Best Structural Innovation category of the 2007 LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Built-In Quality Awards for the uncommon structural use of local sustainable sweet chestnut to create the laminated beams. Nov 2007 Rye Oak Childrens Centre, London SE15 – A new £4.7million single storey children’s centre using innovative self finished cross laminated structural timber panel system Balham High Road, London SW12 - Design and Build construction of £2.4million block of 14 apartments and a scout hall facility Brixton Road, London SE11 – A mixed development of residential apartments and commercial units values at £1.7 million Oct 2007 Batleys Cash and Carry Store, Gillingham – Buxton have successfully handed over the new £4.8 million, 90,000 sq ft retail unit some eight weeks ahead of the original contract programme to allow the store to commence trading early. Sept 2007 Little Britain Challenge Cup Success – Hearty congratulations to Phill Mumford and Eddie Fowler who joined the Cognition Land and Water crew aboard “Vespucci’s Black Sheep” for this years Little Britain Challenge Cup. Their efforts were rewarded in winning the Chapman Taylor Cup for coming 1st in the Class 1 category and a very creditable 30th overall out of the 250 competitors.
